Abstract
There are provided an optical disc device and its recording/reproducing method for managing the management information about plural optical discs efficiently. In the present invention, the management information about the plural optical discs is stored in a memory. Moreover, the management information about part or all of the optical discs stored in the memory is recorded in the optical disc.
Claims20
An optical disc device which is capable of setting plural optical discs therein, and which records or reproduces information by illuminating said optical discs with laser light,
- said optical disc device, comprising:
- a motor for rotating an optical disc;
- a laser-light source for illuminating said optical disc with said laser light, said optical disc being rotated by said motor;
- a memory for storing management information about part or all of said plural optical discs set in said optical disc device;
- and
- a control section controls recording said management information about said part or all of said optical discs in an optical disc, said management information being stored in said memory.
An optical disc recording/reproducing method in an optical disc device, said optical disc device being capable of setting plural optical discs therein, and recording or reproducing information by illuminating said optical discs with laser light,
- said optical disc recording/reproducing method, comprising the steps of rotating an optical disc;
- illuminating said optical disc with said laser light, said optical disc being rotated by said rotation;
- storing, in a memory, management information about part or all of said plural optical discs set in said optical disc device;
- controlling recording said management information about said part or all of said optical discs in said optical disc, said management information being stored in said memory;
- and
- recording or reproducing said information in said optical discs based on said management information recorded by said controlling.
An optical disc device which is capable of setting plural optical discs therein, and which records or reproduces information by illuminating said optical discs with laser light,
- said optical disc device, comprising:
- a motor for rotating an optical disc;
- a laser-light source for illuminating said optical disc with said laser light, said optical disc being rotated by said motor;
- and
- an interface for outputting a signal on the basis of information unique to part or all of said plural optical discs set in said optical disc device, said signal indicating whether said optical discs should be recorded/reproduced.
An optical disc device which sets plural optical discs therein and reproduces information by illuminating said optical discs with laser light,
- said optical disc device, comprising:
- motor section for rotating a optical disc;
- laser-light-emitting section for emitting said laser light;
- memory section for storing disc management information about optical discs;
- and
- control section for controlling said reproduction of said optical discs by determining a reproducing position on said optical disc on the basis of said disc management information stored in said memory section, wherein
- said control section controls reading said disc management information from said optical discs and storing said disc management information in said memory section.
