Abstract
System and method for compensating for changes in an output impedance of a power amplifier uses an impedance compensating circuit with an impedance inverter coupled to the power amplifier. The impedance inverter of the impedance compensating circuit is configured such that an output impedance of the impedance inverter is proportional to the inverse of the output impedance of the power amplifier to compensate for changes in the output impedance of the power amplifier.

A method for compensating for changes in an output impedance of a power amplifier, the method comprising:
- coupling the power amplifier to an impedance inverter of an impedance compensation circuit;
- and
- compensating for the changes in the output impedance of the power amplifier using an output impedance of the impedance inverter that inversely changes with respect to the output impedance of the power amplifier.
An impedance compensation circuit comprising:
- an input terminal connected to a power amplifier;
- an impedance inverter coupled to the power amplifier through the input terminal, the impedance inverter being configured such that the output impedance of the impedance inverter is proportional to the inverse of the output impedance of the power amplifier to compensate for changes in an output impedance of the power amplifier;
- and
- an output terminal connected to a load of the power amplifier.
A power amplifier circuit comprising:
- a power amplifier having an output impedance;
- and
- an impedance compensation circuit connected to the power amplifier, the impedance compensation circuit comprising:
- an input terminal connected to the power amplifier;
- an impedance inverter coupled to the power amplifier through the input terminal, the impedance inverter being configured such that the output impedance of the impedance inverter is proportional to the inverse of the output impedance of the power amplifier to compensate for changes in an output impedance of the power amplifier;
- and
- an output terminal connected to a load of the power amplifier.
