Abstract
An electrode for an electricity storage device (10) of the present invention includes a porous layer (1) having either fibers or whiskers (1a) containing tungsten oxide. A valence band photoelectron spectrum of the fibers or whiskers (1a) obtained by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis has a peak within 1 eV from a Fermi level of the tungsten oxide.

1-14. (canceled)
An electrode for an electricity storage device, comprising:
- a substrate,
- a porous layer, formed on the substrate, having either fibers or whiskers containing tungsten oxide,
- wherein, in a valence band photoelectron spectrum of the fibers or whiskers obtained by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis, a peak appears where a binding energy falls within 1 eV from a Fermi level of tungsten oxide, and in the valence band photoelectron spectrum of the fibers or whiskers obtained by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis, a rising edge of the peak is started before the Fermi level of tungsten oxide, and an intensity of the peak which appears where a binding energy falls within 1 eV is 1/20 or more with respect to an intensity of a peak which appears where a binding energy falls within a range of 5 to 10 eV.
