Abstract
The present invention provides a safety laminate or solar cell module comprising an acid terpolymer containing film or sheet, wherein the acid terpolymer comprises copolymerized units derived from an α-olefin, about 15 to about 30 wt % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbons, and about 0.5 to about 40 wt % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester having 4 to 12 carbons, based on the total weight of the acid terpolymer.
Claims20
An article comprising a multi-layer film or sheet, wherein:
- (a) the multilayer film or sheet comprises a first surface sublayer, a second surface sub-layer, and an inner sub-layer,
- (b) the first and second surface sub-layer consist essentially of a non-neutralized acid terpolymer comprising copolymerized units derived from:
- (i) an α-olefin,
- (ii) about 15 to about 30 wt % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbons, and
- (iii) about 0.5 to about 40 wt % of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid ester having 4 to 12 carbons, based on the total weight of the acid terpolymers;
- (c) the inner sub-layer consists essentially of ionomer;
- and
- (d) the article is a safety glass laminate pre-lamination assembly or a solar control pre-lamination assembly.
