Abstract
This invention relates to a powder comprising a carrier material which is in powdery form and selected from the group consisting of a water-soluble polymer, a water-insoluble polymer, and an inert inorganic material, and a mixture containing at least about 5 wt. % of a compound having the formula (1-a) and at least about 5 wt. % of a compound having the formula (1-b), HO—(R2O)m—H (1-a), R1aO—(R2aO)n—H (1-b). Claimed also are a process to make the powder, its use, as well as a dry mortar formulation containing the same.

A powder which is suitable for reducing the shrinkage of minerally binding materials, the powder comprising:
- a) a carrier material in powdery form and selected from the group consisting of a water-soluble polymer, a water-insoluble polymer and an inert inorganic material, wherein the inert inorganic material is selected from the group consisting of silicate, silicon dioxide, silica fume, fumed silica, carbonates, kaolin and china clay, and
- b) at least about 5 wt. %, based on the weight of the powder, of a compound having the formula (I-a) and at least about 5 wt. %, based on the weight of the powder, of a compound having the formula (I-b),
- HO—(R2O)m—H (I-a)
- R1aO—(R2aO)n—H (I-b)
- wherein R1a is a linear, branched and/or cyclic C1- to C6-alkyl group, R2 is a linear and/or branched C2- to C4-alkylene group, R2a is a linear and/or branched C3-alkylene group, and m and n are integers having independently from each other a value of 1 to 4.
