Abstract
The invention relates to a method for determining the location of an impact on a surface of an object based on the analysis of an acoustic signal generated by the impact. This method further comprises a signal treatment step of weighting the acoustic signal to take into account spurious contributions in particular due to reflections at the border of the object.

Computer program product comprising one or more computer readable media having computer-executable instructions for performing the steps of:
- weighting an acoustic signal to thereby take into account spurious contributions in particular due to reflections at the border of an object, the object propagating the acoustic signal resulting from an impact on the surface of the object.
Device for determining the location of an impact on a surface of an object, said device comprising:
- at least two transforming means coupled to the object, the transforming means sensing an acoustic signal generated by the impact on the surface;
- and
- a signal processing means configured to weight the acoustic signal resulting from an impact on said surface of the object, said signal processing means coupled to the transforming means.
