Abstract
A memory system includes a non-volatile memory device including a plurality of pages and a controller connected electrically with the non-volatile memory device and configured to control the non-volatile memory device. The non-volatile memory device is configured to be capable of storing data from a set number of write operations before data erasing with respect to each page; and wherein the controller is configured to divide each page of the non-volatile memory device into first and second areas, to perform a write operation of the first area by the NOP, and to write an invalidation mark in the second area.

A method of controlling non-volatile memory, the method comprising:
- determining whether a program threshold number of a segment of memory has been reached;
- and
- marking the segment of memory as “invalid” when the program threshold number has been reached.
A method of controlling non-volatile memory, the method comprising:
- receiving a read command to read data from a segment of memory;
- determining whether the segment of memory is valid;
- and
- preventing a read operation of the segment of memory corresponding to the read command when the segment of memory is determined to be invalid.
A memory system, comprising:
- non-volatile memory to store data;
- and
- a controller to determine whether a program threshold number of a first segment of memory has been reached and to mark the first segment of memory as “invalid” when the program threshold number has been reached.
