Abstract
A system may determine a measure of how a content of a document changes over time, generate a score for the document based, at least in part, on the measure of how the content of the document changes over time, and rank the document with regard to at least one other document based, at least in part, on the score.

A method performed by one or more devices, the method comprising:
- obtaining, by at least one of the one or more devices, a group of search result documents that are responsive to a search query;
- determining, by at least one of the one or more devices, a date on which a content changed for each of the search result documents in a set of the search result documents in the group;
- determining, by at least one of the one or more devices, an average date-of-change of the search result documents, in the set of search result documents, based on the determined dates;
- generating, by at least one of the one or more devices, a score for a particular search result document in the set of search result documents, based on a difference between the determined date, associated with the particular search result document, and the average date-of-change of the search result documents in the set of search result documents;
- and
- ranking, by at least one of the one or more devices, the particular search result document with regard to at least one other one of the search result documents based on the score.
A computer-readable memory device storing programming instructions that are executable by one or more processors of one or more devices, the programming instructions comprising:
- one or more instructions to obtain a group of search result documents that are responsive to a search query;
- one or more instructions to determine a date on which a content changed for each of the search result documents in a set of the search result documents in the group;
- one or more instructions to determine an average date-of-change of the search result documents, in the set of search result documents, based on the determined dates;
- one or more instructions to generate a score for a particular search result document in the set of search result documents, based on a difference between the determined date, associated with the particular search result document, and the average date-of-change of the search result documents in the set of search result documents;
- and
- one or more instructions to rank the particular search result document with regard to at least one other one of the search result documents based on the score.
A system, comprising:
- one or more devices to:
- obtain a group of search result documents that are responsive to a search query;
- determine a date on which a content changed for each of the search result documents in a set of the search result documents in the group;
- determine an average date-of-change of the search result documents, in the set of search result documents, based on the determined dates;
- generate a score for a particular search result document in the set of search result documents, based on a difference between the determined date, associated with the particular search result document, and the average date-of-change of the search result documents in the set of search result documents;
- and
- rank the particular search result document with regard to at least one other one of the search result documents based on the score.
