System and method for facilitating play of a video game via a web site

A method of conducting an electronic tournament, comprising:

• determining, a first value for a game session parameter, wherein the first value is applicable to a game session when played by a first player;
• determining, a second value for the game session parameter, wherein the second value is applicable to the game session when played by a second player, and wherein the second value is different than the first value;
• determining a first input associated with the first player and a second input associated with the second player;
• calculating, based on the first input and the first value, a first result associated with the game session;
• calculating, based on the second input and the second value, a second result associated with the game session;
• and
• determining, based on the first and second results, whether the first and second players, respectively, qualify for a prize.
