Abstract
A method for signalling an intra chroma prediction mode and a method for implementing the signalled intra chroma prediction mode, the intra chroma prediction mode taking an intropolation of previously predicted luma samples from neighboring blocks of video data to attain an intra chroma prediction of a current chroma prediction unit.
Claims17
A method of processing a digital video signal, comprising:
- receiving a video data sample and prediction mode information as part of the digital video signal;
- performing an interpolation on a plurality of previously reconstructed video data samples;
- processing a prediction of the video data sample using at least the interpolation of the plurality of previously reconstructed video data samples, and
- reconstructing the video data sample for display.
A method for transmitting intra prediction mode information, comprising:
- transmitting a video data signal including intra luma prediction mode information and intra predicted luma samples of a current block processed according to the intra luma prediction mode;
- transmitting intra chroma prediction mode information and intra chroma predicted chroma samples of the current block processed according to the intra chroma mode;
- wherein if the intra chroma predicted chroma samples are processed according to a same intra prediction mode as the previously predicted intra luma predicted luma samples, then the intra chroma prediction mode information indicates the intra chroma prediction mode will follow the intra luma prediction mode.
A method for receiving intra prediction mode information, comprising:
- receiving a video data signal including intra luma prediction mode information and intra predicted luma samples of a current block previously processed according to the intra luma prediction mode, the video signal also including intra chroma prediction mode information and intra predicted chroma samples of the current block previously processed according to the intra chroma prediction mode;
- parsing the intra luma prediction mode information;
- reconstructing the intra predicted luma samples by processing the intra predicted luma samples according to the intra luma prediction mode indicated by the parsed intra luma prediction mode information;
- parsing the intra chroma prediction mode information;
- reconstructing the intra predicted chroma samples by processing the intra predicted chroma samples according to the intra chroma prediction mode indicated by the read intra chroma prediction mode information;
- reconstructing the current block using the processed intra luma predicted luma samples and processed intra chroma predicted chroma samples.
