Abstract
A method, composition and kit for straightening human hair. The method comprises applying an alkali relaxer to the hair and then neutralizing the hair with a hair neutralizing composition comprising at least one fatty acid or a quaternary derivative thereof. The kit comprises an alkali hair relaxer or components for preparing such a relaxer and the hair neutralizing composition.
Claims32
A method of straightening human hair comprising applying an alkali relaxer to the hair, and then neutralizing the hair with a composition comprising at least one fatty acid, in an effective amount sufficient to neutralize the relaxed hair.
A hair neutralizing composition comprising
- (a) a high fatty acid natural oil;
- and
- (b) at least one additional fatty acid in an effective amount sufficient to neutralize hair that has had an alkali relaxer applied to the hair.
A kit for straightening human hair comprising an alkali hair relaxer or components necessary for preparing an alkali hair relaxer and a hair neutralizing composition comprising a fatty acid.
A kit for straightening human hair comprising an alkali hair relaxer or components required for preparing an alkali hair relaxer and a hair neutralizing composition comprising a natural oil high in fatty acids.
