Abstract
A manway is provided that can be used with food processing equipment. The manway may be provided at an intersection of a top wall and an end or side wall of the food processing equipment. The manway may extend angularly with respect to the food processing equipment so that a passage extending through the manway extends into an inside space of the food processing equipment at an angle. A nozzle may be mounted so as to position an opening(s) of the nozzle in a direction that faces the passage of the manway, and the nozzle may deliver a cleaning fluid so that the manway can be automatically cleaned in place.
Claims19
A food processing vat system comprising:
- a vat defining an inside space therein;
- a manway having interconnected side walls defining a passage therebetween, the manway being connected to the vat so that the passage of the manway extends into the inside space of the vat;
- and
- a nozzle being configured to convey a cleaning fluid therethrough and mounted to at least one of the manway and the vat, the nozzle having an opening that is positioned with respect to the manway so as to direct the cleaning fluid into the manway.
A food processing vat system comprising:
- a vat having a top wall and (i) a pair of end walls, and (ii) a pair of side walls that extend downwardly from the top wall, the vat defining an inside space between the top wall, end walls, and side walls;
- and
- a manway being connected to and extending angularly away from the vat and having a passage that extends angularly into the inside space of the vat.
