Abstract
A network management system communicates with a plurality of intelligent distributed network nodes. The network management system dynamically distributes managed objects across the plurality of intelligent distributed network nodes. Examples of managed objects distributed by the network management system include a service control managed object, a call control managed object, a bearer control managed object, and a resource proxy managed object.
Claims21
1-35. (canceled)
A method for controlling call processing in a communications system, comprising:
- creating call control software expressing call processing control logic;
- and
- deploying the call control software to a call processing node over a data communications network, the call processing node controlling at least a portion of the communications system,
- where a call received by the communication system is processed in accordance with the call processing control logic expressed in the call control software.
A method for controlling call processing in a communications system, comprising:
- creating a call control software object expressing call processing control logic;
- deploying the call control software object over a data communications network to a service logic execution environment controlling at least a portion of the communications system;
- and
- instantiating the call control software object in the service logic execution environment, where a call handled by the communications system is controlled in accordance with the call processing control logic expressed in the call control software object.
A method for controlling call processing of a call in a communications system, comprising:
- determining, in an intelligent call processing node controlling at least a portion of the communications system, whether a conflict exists between a first call processing action to be taken with respect to processing the call and a second call processing action to be taken with respect to processing the call;
- invoking service arbitration software when a conflict exists;
- and
- determining, by the service arbitration software, a call processing action to be taken in processing the call to resolve the conflict.
A method for controlling call processing of a call in a communications system, comprising:
- storing, in an intelligent call processing node controlling at least a portion of the communications system, service discrimination information associated with processing calls, wherein the service discrimination information identifies one or more services to be invoked based on subscriber specific information;
- and
- invoking the one or more services when processing a call for a first subscriber based on the stored service discrimination information and information received when processing the call.
