Abstract
A device for removing hair is disclosed. The device comprises a container, filled with an impedance matching medium, and an ultrasound transducer element coupled to the container, such that ultrasound waves are generated by the transducer element in the impedance matching medium. The device further comprises a hair receiving element having at least one opening for receiving hair shafts, wherein a height of the opening is approximately an integer multiplication of half a wavelength of the ultrasound waves.
Claims18
A device for removing hair, comprising:
- a container, filled with an impedance matching medium;
- an ultrasound transducer element coupled to said container at a first end of said container, such that ultrasound waves are generated by said transducer element in said impedance matching medium;
- and
- a hair receiving element at a second end of said container, opposite to said first end, said hair receiving element having at least one opening for receiving hair shafts, wherein a height of said at least one opening is approximately an integer multiplication of half a wavelength of said ultrasound waves.
A device for removing hair, comprising:
- a plurality of tubular transducer elements filled with an impedance matching medium and configured for receiving hair shafts and for generating ultrasound waves in said medium;
- wherein a height of at least some of said transducer elements is approximately an integer multiplication of half a wavelength of said ultrasound waves.
7-28. (canceled)
A device for removing hair, comprising:
- a vibratory unit having an ultrasound transducer element, a vibrating element and an acoustic horn between said transducer element and said vibrating element, wherein vibratory motion of said transducer element is transferred by said horn to said vibrating element;
- and
- a biasing unit having a gripping element and an actuator mechanism configured for closing and opening said gripping element onto said vibrating element,
- said actuator mechanism being operative to establish a linear motion of said gripping element along said horn such that a linear motion along a first direction opens a gap between said gripping element and said vibrating element to receive hair shafts in said gap, and a linear motion along a second direction, opposite to said first direction, closes said gripping element on said vibrating element so as to grip said hairs therebetween and to transfer said vibratory motion to said hair shafts for generating ultrasound wave therein.
A method of removing hair, comprising:
- entering hair shafts to a device having a hair receiving element, an ultrasound transducer element and a container filled with an impedance matching medium, and
- energizing said transducer element,
- wherein said ultrasound transducer element and said hair receiving element are coupled to said container at a opposite ends of said container, such that ultrasound waves are generated by said transducer element in said impedance matching medium,
- wherein said hair receiving element has at least one opening for receiving the hair shafts, and
- wherein a height of said at least one opening is approximately an integer multiplication of half a wavelength of said ultrasound waves.
