Abstract
Disclosed is a lubricant composition for use in association with a device involving metal-to-metal contact of moving parts, the composition comprising (a) a base stock comprising at least one low viscosity poly-alpha-olefin; (b) a viscosity improver comprising at least one high viscosity poly-alpha-olefin; and (c) a performance additive comprising at least one compound effective to improve at least one property of the lubricant and/or the performance of the equipment in which the lubricant is to be used.
Claims20
A lubricant composition for use in lubricating a device involving metal-to-metal contact of moving parts, the composition comprising:
- (a) a basestock comprising at least one low viscosity poly-alpha-olefin (PAO);
- (b) a viscosity improver comprising at least one high viscosity poly-alpha-olefin (PAO);
- and
- (c) a performance additive comprising at least one compound effective to improve at least one property of the lubricant composition and/or the performance of the equipment in which the lubricant is to be used.
A lubricant composition comprising:
- (a) a basestock comprising at least one PAO having a viscosity of about 12 centistokes or less,
- (b) a viscosity improver comprising at least one PAO having a viscosity of about 40 to about 1000 centistokes, and
- (c) a performance additive comprising at least one compound effective to improve at least one property of the lubricant composition and/or the performance of the equipment in which the lubricant is to be used.
