Abstract
The present invention relates to the field of prostate cancer. Particularly the invention relates to villin as a novel prostate biomarker. The invention further relates to compositions comprising anti-villin antibodies and use of these compositions for an improved detection of prostate cancer in a subject.

A method for determining the presence or absence of prostate cancer cells in a sample of a solid body tissue or tumor obtained from a subject, comprising immunochemically determining the level of expression of villin in said sample in vitro.
A panel of prostate cancer biomarkers comprising villin.
A diagnostic kit for determining the presence of prostate cancer cells in a tissue sample, comprising an anti-villin antibody.
