Abstract
The instant invention relates to the field of protein production, and in particular is relates to compositions and processes for improving the production levels of recombinant proteins expressed in host cells.
Claims16
A method of identifying a high efficiency cell or cell culture comprising:
- (a) determining the expression level of a high efficiency cell or cell culture biomarker in the cell or cell culture, and
- (b) comparing the expression level of that high efficiency cell or cell culture biomarker in the cell or cell culture to the expression level of the biomarker in a known high efficiency cell or cell culture,
- wherein a biomarker expression level higher than the level in the known high efficiency cell or cell culture is indicative of a high efficiency cell or cell culture and a biomarker expression level less than the level in the known high efficiency cell or cell culture is indicative of a lower efficiency cell or cell culture.
A kit for identifying modulation in expression of a secretory protein biomarker of high efficiency protein expression comprising:
- (a) a detectable antibody directed against a secretory protein biomarker of high efficiency protein expression;
- and
- (b) a means for detecting said antibody.
