A negative electrode for a lithium (Li) secondary battery, a method of forming the same, and a secondary battery, the negative electrode including a tin (Sn) based current collector layer; and a multilayer film on the Sn based current collector, the multilayer film having two or more layers, wherein the multilayer film includes at least one porous layer.

A negative electrode for a lithium (Li) secondary battery, the negative electrode comprising:
- a tin (Sn) based current collector layer;
- and
- a multilayer film on the Sn based current collector, the multilayer film having two or more layers,
- wherein the multilayer film includes at least one porous layer.

A method of manufacturing a negative electrode for a lithium (Li) secondary battery, the method comprising:
- forming a tin (Sn) based current collector layer by plating a plating solution containing Sn on a substrate;
- forming a porous layer by plating the Sn-containing plating solution on the Sn based current collector;
- forming a non-porous layer by plating the Sn-containing plating solution on the porous layer;
- and
- separating the substrate from the Sn based current collector layer.
