Abstract
An electrode of an energy storage device with less deterioration by charge and discharge can be manufactured. In addition, an energy storage device which has large capacity and high endurance can be manufactured. A manufacturing method of an electrode of an energy storage device is provided in which a high-wettability regions and a low-wettability region are formed at a surface of a current collector, a composition containing silicon, germanium, or tin is discharged to the high-wettability regions and then baked to form separate active materials over a surface of the current collector. Thus, an electrode of an energy storage device with less deterioration due to charge and discharge can be manufactured.
Claims42
An energy storage device, comprising:
- a current collector;
- a first region at the current collector;
- a second region at the current collector;
- and
- an active material on the first region,
- wherein the first region has higher wettability than the second region.
An energy storage device, comprising:
- a current collector;
- a layer on the current collector;
- a first region in the layer;
- a second region in the layer;
- and
- an active material on the first region,
- wherein the first region has higher wettability than the second region.
An energy storage device, comprising:
- an insulating member over a substrate;
- a current collector over the insulating member;
- a first region at the current collector;
- a second region at the current collector;
- and
- a active material on the first regions,
- wherein the first region are overlapped with the insulating member, and
- wherein the first region has higher wettability than the second region.
An energy storage device, comprising:
- a current collector having a projected portion and a recessed portion;
- an active material over the projected portion;
- and
- wherein a surface of the projected portion has higher wettability than a surface of the recessed portion.
A method for manufacturing an energy storage device, the method comprising the step of:
- forming a current collector;
- forming a high-wettability region by a first treatment of a surface of the current collector;
- forming a mask on the current collector after the first treatment;
- forming a low-wettability region by a second treatment of the surface of the current collector after forming the mask;
- removing the mask after the second treatment;
- discharging an active material to the high-wettability region, and
- baking the active material after discharging.
A method for manufacturing an energy storage device, the method comprising the step of:
- forming a layer on a current collector;
- forming a high-wettability region by a first treatment of the layer;
- forming a mask on the layer after the first treatment;
- forming a low-wettability region by a second treatment of the layer after forming the mask;
- removing the mask after the second treatment;
- discharging an active material to the high-wettability region, and
- baking the active material after discharging.
