Abstract
Methods, devices, and systems for automatically controlling the establishment and/or termination of inter-client Data Link Protocol (DLP) communication channels. More specifically, methods, devices, and systems are provided for establishing an inter-client DLP communication channel on demand for communication sessions and terminating the same upon completion of such communication sessions.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- monitoring communication activity at one or more of a computing device and a communication device;
- determining that a DLP-triggering event has occurred at one or both of the computing device and communication device;
- and
- based on the determining step, establishing a DLP-side channel between the computing device and the communication device.
A communication device, comprising:
- a network interface capable of connecting the communication device with a computing device and a communication network either directly or via an access point;
- memory containing processor-executable instructions, the instructions including:
- a DLP manager, the DLP manager configured to monitor communication activity of the communication device, determine that a DLP-triggering event has occurred at communication device, and cause a DLP-side channel to be established between the communication device and a second device;
- and
- a processor for executing the instructions contained in the memory.
A computer program product comprising computer executable instructions stored onto a computer readable medium which, when executed by a processor of a computer, cause the processor to execute a method, the method comprising:
- monitoring communication activity at one or more of a computing device and a communication device;
- determining that a DLP-triggering event has occurred at one or both of the computing device and communication device;
- and
- based on the determining step, causing a DLP-side channel to be established between the computing device and the communication device.
