Communication relay device, communication relay method, and storage medium having communication relay program stored therein

A relay method for establishing wireless communication between a relay device and a wireless communication device and relaying communication between the wireless communication device and another communication device, the method comprising:

• a first step of determining whether there is a communication failure in a first communication path;
• a second step of enabling a first relay mode which includes a first set of communication parameters for relaying the communication via the first communication path and disenabling a second relay mode which includes a second set of communication parameters for relaying the communication via a second communication path which is different from the first communication path, when the first step determines that there is no communication failure in the first communication path, and disenabling the first relay mode and enabling the second relay mode when the first step determines that there is a communication failure in the first communication path;
• and
• a third step of controlling the communication in accordance with either the first relay mode or the second relay mode that is enabled by the second step.

A storage medium having stored therein a program for causing a computer included in a relay device to execute a process of performing wireless communication with a wireless communication device and relaying communication between the wireless communication device and another communication device, the process comprising:

• a first step of determining whether there is a communication failure in a first communication path;
• a second step of enabling a first relay mode which includes a first set of communication parameters for relaying the communication via the first communication path and disenabling a second relay mode which includes a second set of communication parameters for relaying the communication via a second communication path which is different from the first communication path, when the first step determines that there is no communication failure in the first communication path, and disenabling the first relay mode and enabling the second relay mode when the first step determines that there is a communication failure in the first communication path;
• and
• a third step of controlling the communication in accordance with either the first relay mode or the second relay mode that is enabled by the second, step.
