Abstract
The present invention relates to a core or foundry sand that can be used for the production of cores and casting moulds for the casting of molten metals, comprising a basic moulding material, coated with a layer of an adhesive agent and a layer of water glass lying over the latter and a water glass content in the range of≧approximately 0.25% by weight to approximately 0.9% by weight in relation to the overall weight of the core and foundry sand.
Claims18
Core or foundry sand that can be used for the production of cores and casting moulds for the casting of molten metals, comprising a basic moulding material, coated with a layer of an adhesive agent and a layer of water glass lying over the latter and a water glass content in the range of≧approximately 0.25% by weight to approximately 0.9% by weight in relation to the overall weight of the core and foundry sand.
A core tool suitable for the production of a mould part of a casting mould for the casting of molten metals, comprising at least one casting mould with at least one connection for introducing the core or foundry sand and at least one connection for the introduction of a hardening agent, optionally in the form of water vapour, or with at least one connection suitable both for introducing the core or foundry sand and for introducing a hardening agent.
