Abstract
The present invention provides improved solar cells. This patent teaches a particularly efficient method of device manufacture based on incorporating the solar cell fabrication into the widely used, high temperature, Float Glass manufacture process.
Claims12
A method of fabricating a solar collecting device comprising:
- a) forming a first conductive layer overlying a substrate of hot glass, provided by the Float Glass process;
- b) a layer of silicon which has been pre-mixed with a suitable first type dopant material is then deposited;
- c) a second layer of silicon which has been pre-mixed with a suitable second type dopant material is then deposited;
- d) the first dopant-silicon layer and the second dopant-silicon layer, are then annealed forming a polycrystalline structure;
- e) then an additional layer of conductive material is applied overlying the prior polycrystalline structure.
