Abstract
In a steering lock device, a lever extending along an axial direction of a key rotor is provided between a housing and a key cylinder. A pivot-point portion protruded toward the key cylinder is provided on the lever. The lever swings about the pivot-point portion as its swing center in a radial direction of the key cylinder in a state where the pivot-point portion contacts with a pivot-point receive portion on the key cylinder. Then the lever is displaced in the radial direction of the key rotor with its end portion as its pivot point. According to the steering lock device, a pin as a swing center is not required, and locking/unlocking the lock member can be controlled by the lever along with insertion/removal of the key.
Claims4
A steering lock device comprising:
- a cylindrical housing;
- a key cylinder that is housed in the housing and has a pivot-point receive portion;
- a key that can be inserted into the key cylinder and locks/unlocks the key cylinder by a rotation thereof after an insertion thereof;
- a cam member that rotates along with a rotation of the key cylinder;
- a lock member that is slidably provided in the housing and displaced along with a rotation of the cam member;
- and
- a lever that is extended along an axial direction of the key cylinder and can be displaced in a radial direction of the key cylinder, wherein
- the lever includes a pivot-point portion that is received by the pivot-point receive portion, and can swing about the pivot-point portion,
- the lock member is displaced to an unlocked position thereof due to the rotation of the key, and the lever and the lock member positioned at the unlocked position are engaged due to swinging of the lever along with the insertion of the key into the key cylinder to keep the lock member at the unlock position, and
- one of the pivot-point receive portion and the pivot-point portion is formed as a depressed portion and another thereof is formed as a protruded portion toward the depressed portion, and the protruded portion is supported with urged toward the depressed portion.
