Abstract
A floor support for a grain bin floor made from a sheet of galvanized steel having a top surface, a bottom surface and flat ends. The floor support has a plurality of flanges and notches disposed within the top surface and a plurality of openings disposed through the sheet of galvanized steel. Positioned between each opening is a first bend. Positioned on either side of selected first bends is a second bend thereby forming a z-shaped floor support.
Claims20
A grain bin for storing grain comprising:
- a foundation supporting a circular wall;
- a supported floor system having floor panels that allow the passage of air therethrough connected to the circular wall;
- a floor support having flanges adjacent the notches such that the notches receive the floor panels of the supported floor;
- and
- said floor support having a first bend that is located within a notch for supporting a floor panel.
A method of manufacturing a floor support for a grain bin, steps comprising:
- providing a sheet of metal having a flat and straight top and bottom surface;
- bending the sheet to create a plurality of first bends;
- bending the sheet on each side of alternating first bends to form a Z-shape.

A support for a grain bin floor, comprising;
- an elongated member having a flat and straight top surface and a flat and straight bottom surface and a plurality of first bends and a plurality of second bends;
- wherein each of the plurality of second bends are positioned adjacent to selected first bends and are bent in opposite directions of the plurality of first bends to form a plurality of panels extending from a first second bend to a next second bend.
