A method for manufacturing an electrode plate for a battery comprising a step of producing an electrode plate precursor by causing a paste comprising an active material to pass through a die including a paste storing part and a subsequent flat discharge flow path so as to apply onto at least one surface of a current collector in a lengthy belt shape, thereby forming an active material layer,

• wherein said die comprises an upper mold having a flat bottom surface and a lower mold having a flat top surface that determine a gap of said discharge flow path, and is constituted to form said discharge flow path by disposing said upper mold and said lower mold in opposition to each other with a pair of thin plate-like members determining said discharge flow path in a width direction sandwiched between thereof, and
• wherein said gap of said discharge flow path is adjusted by a thickness of said thin plate-like members and an application width of said paste is adjusted by a distance between said pair of thin plate-like members at an opening of said discharge flow path.
