Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed that monitor movement of a person, or of a vehicle ridden by the person, to determine speed, distance traveled and/or airtime of the person or vehicle. Accelerometer-based sensors, pressure sensors or Doppler sensors may be employed in these systems and methods. A liquid crystal display may attach to the person to display speed, distance traveled and/or airtime.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- a motion sensor configured to generate motion signals in response to user movement and to generate rotation signals responsive to rotation of earth;
- and
- a processor configured for processing the motion signals to determine at least one of speed and distance traveled by compensating the motion signals based on the rotation signals.
A method comprising:
- generating motion signals in response to user movement;
- generating rotation signals responsive to rotation of earth;
- and
- processing, by a processor, the motion signals to determine at least one of speed and distance traveled by compensating the motion signals based on the rotation signals.
