Abstract
The present invention relates to a bone implant matrix, comprising a base matrix treated or to be treated with a reinforcing mixture containing at least a polymer. The described bone implant matrix is particularly suitable in the field of bone reconstructive surgery in general, orthopaedics, and in particular in oral surgery, maxillo-facial and dental implantology. Furthermore, a method for preparing the bone implant matrix is described.

A bone implant matrix comprising:
- a base matrix;
- and
- a reinforcing mixture containing at least a polymer,
- wherein the base matrix is treated with the reinforcing mixture.

A method for preparing a bone implant matrix, the method comprising:
- preparing a solution of a reinforcing mixture containing at least a polymer;
- dipping a base matrix into said reinforcing mixture solution;
- and then
- removing solvent residues from the bone implant matrix by at least one of drying and degassing the bone implant matrix.

A matrix for bone implants, the matrix comprising:
- a base matrix treated with a reinforcing mixture containing at least a polymer,
- wherein the base matrix comprises one of:
- a synthetic material and selected from the group consisting of polymeric, metallic, ceramic, bio-ceramic and bio-glass, and
- a natural material selected from the group consisting of demineralised bone matrixes, non-demineralised bone matrixes, natural polymeric matrixes and mineral matrixes.
