Therapy Delivery for Identified Tachyarrhythmia Episode Types

A method of operating a cardiac system that includes an implantable cardiac device, the implantable cardiac device including implantable electrodes adapted to be positioned at respective specific sites within the patient, the method comprising:

• for a first period of time
• sensing first electrogram signals of cardiac electrical activity from the patient in the implantable cardiac device, the sensing being carried out using the implantable electrodes;
• detecting intrinsic tachyarrhythmia episodes using the first electrogram signals;
• and
• identifying intrinsic tachyarrhythmia episode types based at least on the first electrogram signals;
• and
• after the first period of time, in preparation for performing ablation:
• inducing an induced tachyarrhythmia episode;
• sensing second electrogram signals from the induced tachyarrhythmia episode using the implantable electrodes;
• comparing characteristics from the induced tachyarrhythmia episode to characteristics of the intrinsic tachyarrhythmia episode types;
• and
• indicating a similarity between the induced tachyarrhythmia episode and at least one of the intrinsic tachyarrhythmia episode types to facilitate performing the ablation.
