Abstract
A novel process is described which allows N-isopropyl(meth)acrylamide to be obtained in high purity and yield in a simple manner, by reacting methacrylic anhydride with isopropylamine, optionally in a solvent.
Claims15
A process for preparing an amide of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, comprising:
- reacting an anhydride of the unsaturated carboxylic acid with an amine in an inert solvent to yield an amide;
- and
- removing the amide.
A process for preparing an amide of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, comprising:
- reacting an anhydride of the unsaturated carboxylic acid with an amine without a solvent to yield an amide;
- and
- removing the amide.
A process for preparing N-isopropylmethacrylamide, comprising:
- reacting a methacrylic anhydride with isopropylamine in a solvent to yield N-isopropylmethacrylamide;
- and
- isolating the N-isopropylmethacrylamide.
A process for preparing N-isopropylmethacrylamide, comprising:
- reacting a methacrylic anhydride with isopropylamine without a solvent to yield N-isopropylmethacrylamide;
- and
- isolating the N-isopropylmethacrylamide.
