Disclosed is the use of hypericum (Hypericum perforatum L.) tip extracts containing hypericin, of hypericin, to prepare medicinal products and/or food supplements for the treatment of neuropathic pain.

A method of treating neuropathic pain, the method comprising administering to a subject a composition comprising an effective amount of hypericum flowering stems extracts containing hypericin, or hypericin.
