Abstract
The invention relates to inhibitors of Multi drug Resistant Protein 4 (MRP4) for the treatment and/or the prevention of cardiac disorders, such as acute or chronic heart failure and cardiogenic shock. The invention also relates to agents stimulating MRP4 activity for the treatment and/or the prevention of cardiac hypertrophy.

A method for stimulating cardiac contractility in vivo comprising the use of an inhibitor of MRP4.
A method for treating a cardiac disorder selected from the group consisting of acute heart failure and cardiogenic shock, comprising the use of an inhibitor of MRP4.
A method for promoting the growth of cardiomyocytes in vitro, comprising the use of an inhibitor of MRP4.
A method for culturing cardiomyocytes, wherein the cardiomyocytes are cultured in the presence of an inhibitor of MRP4.
A method for treating and/or preventing cardiac hypertrophy, comprising the use of an agent stimulating MRP4 activity.
A method for inhibiting the hypertrophic response of cardiomyocytes and preventing cardiac remodeling associated with heart failure, comprising the use of an agent stimulating MRP4 activity.
