Abstract
This invention provides wireless safety network through the integration of mobile femto-cells (mFAP), into macro-cellular system. Such network provides safety management for students during their travel to and from school through the supervision of handovers between home and mobile femto-cell and the macro-cellular environment as well as supervision of class attendance, emergency function, and other services.
Claims20
A method to provide student's safety network by integrating at least one mobile Femto Access Point (mFAP), one home Femto Access Point (HNB) and a macro-cellular network, and comprising:
- Control Node module performing:
- Student's Mobility Management;
- Management of Mobile Nodes (mFAPs) route schedule and their mobile Closed Subscriber Groups (mCSGs);
- Management of student's class assignments;
- Management of school Quiet Class Periods;
- Management of Alerts and Emergency procedures.
- Mobile Node modules performing:
- Supervision of handovers by the mobile terminals assigned to their mobile Closed Subscriber Group (mCSG), at the scheduled stop on the school bus route;
- Communicating such handovers, or lack of them to the Control Node;
- Home Node module performing:
- Communicating to the Control Node status of the scheduled handover between HNB and the macro-cell base station;
- Maintenance of emergency contact phone numbers and IP addresses and supervision of Alerts procedures.
A mobile femto-cell (mFAP) comprising at least one processor and memory for storing information and providing:
- A primary radio interface to provide services within the mobile femto-cell coverage area;
- A secondary radio interface to communicate with the macro-cell and service provider core network.
