Abstract
Monoclonal antibodies have been generated that bind to human sialoadhesion factor-2. These antibodies are useful as diagnostic and therapeutic reagents
Claims41
An antibody that binds to human SAF-2.
An isolated polynucleotide encoding a polypeptide comprising a member selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO:2 and SEQ ID NO:4.
A hybridoma cell line that produces a monoclonal antibody having the identifying characteristics the monoclonal antibody 2C4.
A method for detecting the presence of a cell in a sample wherein the cell comprises an SAF-2 protein, the method comprising:
- a) exposing the sample to an antibody that binds to SAF-2;
- and
- b) detecting the antibody that is bound to SAF-2.
A method for altering the function or viability of a cell expressing SAF-2 comprising contacting the cell with a therapeutic agent that binds to SAF-2.
A method for preventing or treating a disease or condition mediated by cells expressing SAF-2, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutic agent that binds to SAF-2.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising an effective amount of a therapeutic agent that binds to SAF-2.
