Abstract
This invention relates to compositions and methods for modulating apoptosis by regulating the activity of endoplasmic reticulum transmembrane glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78).
Claims31
A method of promoting apoptosis in a cell, the method comprising contacting the cell with an agent that inhibits the interaction of glucose regulated protein 78 (GRP78) with a cytosolic component that mediates apoptosis, wherein the agent interacts with the ATP-binding domain of GRP78.
