A method of modulating PKC-δ activity in a population of cells, said method comprising:
- administering to the population of cells an agent selected from the group consisting of a mammalian biliverdin reductase (“BVR”) protein, a mammalian BVR peptide fragment, and an agent that modulates BVR expression or activity under conditions effective to modulate PKC-δ activity in the population of cells.
A method of treating a PKC-δ related condition in a subject comprising:
- administering to the subject having the PKC-δ related condition an agent that modulates PKC-δ activity, wherein the agent is selected from the group consisting of a mammalian biliverdin reductase (“BVR”) protein, a mammalian BVR peptide fragment, and an agent that modulates BVR expression or activity, under conditions effective to treat the PKC-δ related condition.
An isolated peptide comprising an amino acid sequence of GL[K/R][K/R]N[K/R][F/Y/W]L[S/T][F/Y/W][K/R/H][F/Y/W][K/R][S/T] (SEQ ID NO:44).
An isolated peptide comprising an amino acid sequence of [K/R][K/R]N[K/R]Y[L/I]S[F/W] (SEQ ID NO:
- 18).
