Abstract
In a fingermouse image sensor, an array of radiation sensitive pixels is formed on an image sensing die at a position where the array of radiation sensitive pixels is formed off-center within the image sensing die. More specifically, the array of radiation sensitive pixels is formed as close as possible to an edge of the image sensing die. That image sensing die is mounted to a substrate at a position offset from a center of the substrate. More specifically, the image sensing die is positioned such that the edge of the image sensing die (where the array of radiation sensitive pixels is positioned) is adjacent an edge of the substrate.
Claims14
A fingermouse image sensor, comprising:
- an array of radiation sensitive pixels formed on an image sensing die,
- wherein a principle optical axis of radiation incident on the array of radiation sensitive pixels is inclined with respect to a direction perpendicular to the array of radiation sensitive pixels, and
- wherein said array of radiation sensitive pixels is formed off-center within the image sensing die, and
- wherein the array of radiation sensitive pixels is formed as close as possible to an edge of the image sensing die.
A fingermouse image sensor, comprising:
- a substrate having a center and an edge;
- an image sensing die mounted to the substrate offset from the center of the substrate and adjacent the edge of the substrate, the image sensing die having a center and an edge parallel to the edge of the substrate;
- an array of radiation sensitive pixels formed on an image sensing die offset from the center of the image sensing die and adjacent the edge of the image sensing die, the array of radiation sensitive pixels having a center and a side parallel to the edge of the image sensing die;
- a lens mounted to direct radiation towards the array of radiation sensitive pixels formed on the image sensing die.
