Abstract
An image is generated from data acquired with a magnetic resonance tomography, wherein nuclear spins in an excitation region are excited with different transmission modes and a common image is generated from the response signals.
Claims18
A method to generate a magnetic resonance image, comprising the steps of:
- operating a magnetic resonance data acquisition unit, in which a subject is located, to excite nuclear spins by generating a first excitation field using a first transmission mode that produces a first magnetic resonance response signal from said nuclear spins in said excitation region;
- operating said magnetic resonance data acquisition unit to excite nuclear spins in said excitation region of said subject by generating a second excitation field using a second transmission mode, said second excitation field and said second transmission mode differing from said first excitation field and said first excitation mode, to produce a second magnetic resonance response signal from said nuclear spins in said excitation region;
- measuring each of said first and second magnetic resonance response signals;
- and
- supplying the measured first and second magnetic resonance response signals to a computerized processor and, in said computerized processor, reconstructing a common magnetic resonance image from said first and second magnetic resonance response signals, and making a data file comprising said common magnetic resonance image available in electronic form at an output of said computerized processor.
A computerized evaluation device for a magnetic resonance tomography apparatus, said magnetic resonance tomography apparatus comprising a magnetic resonance data acquisition unit that receives an examination subject therein, said computerized evaluation device comprising:
- an input that receives a first magnetic resonance response signal obtained by operating said magnetic resonance data acquisition unit, in which a subject is located, to excite nuclear spins by generating a first excitation field using a first transmission mode that produces said first magnetic resonance response signal from said nuclear spins in said excitation region;
- said input also receiving a second magnetic resonance response signal obtained by operating said magnetic resonance data acquisition unit to excite nuclear spins in said excitation region of said subject by generating a second excitation field using a second transmission mode, said second excitation field and said second transmission mode differing from said first excitation field and said first excitation mode, to produce said second magnetic resonance response signal from said nuclear spins in said excitation region;
- and
- a computerized processor configured to reconstruct a common magnetic resonance image from said first and second magnetic resonance response signals, and to make a data file comprising said common magnetic resonance image available in electronic form at an output of said computerized processor.
A magnetic resonance tomography apparatus comprising:
- a magnetic resonance data acquisition unit that receives an examination subject therein;
- a computerized control and evaluation system configured to operate said magnetic resonance data acquisition unit, in which a subject is located, to excite nuclear spins by generating a first excitation field using a first transmission mode that produces a first magnetic resonance response signal from said nuclear spins in said excitation region;
- said control and evaluation system configured to operate said magnetic resonance data acquisition unit to excite nuclear spins in said excitation region of said subject by generating a second excitation field using a second transmission mode, said second excitation field and said second transmission mode differing from said first excitation field and said first excitation mode, to produce a second magnetic resonance response signal from said nuclear spins in said excitation region;
- said control and evaluation system configured to operate said magnetic resonance data acquisition unit to measure each of said first and second magnetic resonance response signals;
- and
- said control and evaluation system comprising a processor supplied with the measured first and second magnetic resonance response signals, and said processor being configured to reconstruct a common magnetic resonance image from said first and second magnetic resonance response signals, and to make a data file comprising said common magnetic resonance image available in electronic form at an output of said processor.
