Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention provide a system that provides a cohesive, harmonized look to aircraft galleys and other aircraft areas. The system allows airlines to easily change the decorative front fascia of galley (and other) airline components, even while the components are installed on the aircraft. The replacement is accomplished without the use of tools or extensive manual effort by providing replaceable and interchangeable panels for use on aircraft or other passenger transport vehicles or vessels.
Claims19
A panel insert system for use on-board an aircraft, comprising:
- (a) a receiving surface on-board the aircraft;
- (b) a panel insert comprising a securing system,
- wherein the securing system of the panel cooperates with the receiving surface on-board the aircraft to provide a releasable and interchangeable securing system for use on-board the aircraft.
A panel insert system for use in an aircraft galley for providing a billboard effect across a plurality of components, the system comprising two or more panel inserts configured to be removeably secured to an aircraft component, wherein the two or more panels comprise visual indicia that collectively form a visual effect.
An aircraft galley component door configured to receive a removable panel insert, the component door comprising a securing mechanism that has been added thereto to retrofit the door to receive a corresponding securing mechanism on a panel insert.
A panel insert system for providing a billboard effect across a plurality of components, the system comprising two or more panel inserts configured to be removeably secured to one or more components having a receiving surface, wherein the two or more panels comprise visual indicia that collectively form a visual effect across receiving surfaces of the one or more components.
