Abstract
A cutting tool includes a tool unit having an electric motor and a rotary cutting blade rotatably driven by the electric motor. The electric motor has a motor housing. The motor housing has a flattened cylindrical configuration, so that a horizontal length of the motor housing is shorter than a vertical length of the motor housing.
Claims13
A cutting tool comprising:
- a base for placing on a workpiece;
- and
- a tool unit supported by the base and disposed upward of the base;
- wherein:
- the tool unit includes an electric motor and a rotary cutting blade, the electric motor having an output shaft, and the rotary cutting blade being mounted to a spindle, so that the rotation of the output shaft of the electric motor is transmitted to the rotary cutting blade via the spindle;
- the output shaft of the electric motor is positioned upward of the spindle;
- the electric motor has a motor housing having a flattened cylindrical configuration, so that a horizontal length of the motor housing is shorter than a vertical length of the motor housing.
