System and method for three-dimensional complete tooth modeling

A computerized system for modeling of tooth root and crown of a patient to facilitate dental and/or orthodontic treatment, said computerized modeling system comprising:

• a microprocessor comprising a plurality of algorithms;
• a memory device;
• and
• wherein said computerized modeling system is configured for generating:
• a three-dimensional digital crown model for a particular tooth of the patient;
• and
• a three-dimensional digital generic model comprising both a generic crown
• component and a generic root component, said three-dimensional generic model configured for said particular tooth of said three-dimensional crown model;
• and wherein said computerized modeling system is configured for morphing said a three-dimensional crown model with said three-dimensional generic model to yield a complete three-dimensional root and crown tooth model for said particular tooth.

Digital representations of a plurality of teeth of a patient wherein the digital representation of the teeth are generated by the following process:

• generating a plurality of actual patient tooth models corresponding to each of the plurality of teeth, each of said plurality of patient tooth models comprising corresponding crown components;
• generating a plurality of generic tooth models corresponding to said plurality of patient tooth
• models, said plurality of generic tooth model comprising both generic root and generic crown components;
• and
• morphing each of said plurality of patient tooth models with a corresponding one of said plurality of generic tooth models to provide a complete tooth modeling for said plurality of teeth of the patient.
