A method of treating or preventing atherosclerosis, in a subject, comprising administering to the subject a ginsenoside compound K as shown in Formula 1:
- in an amount effective to prevent or treat atherosclerosis in the subject.
A method of downregulating expression of mRNA or protein of perilipin, and decreasing lipid droplets in macrophages of a subject, comprising administering to the subject a ginsenoside compound K as shown in Formula 1:
