Abstract
Glass ceramics with bulk scattering properties and the use of those glass ceramics, for example, in OLED or photovoltaic applications.
Claims14
A glass ceramic comprising:
- a composition comprising, in weight percent;
- greater than 0 to 3% Li2O;
- 15-27% Al2O3;
- 60-85% SiO2;
- and
- greater than or equal to 1% SnO2;
- wherein the glass ceramic exhibits diffuse transmission greater than or equal to 20% from 400 nm to 1200 nm;
- and
- wherein the glass ceramic is a bulk crystallized glass ceramic.

A process for making a glass ceramic comprising:
- preparing a glass wherein the composition comprises, in weight percent:
- greater than 0 to 3% Li2O;
- 15-27% Al2O3;
- 60-85% SiO2;
- and
- greater than or equal to 1% SnO27
- thermally treating the glass to nucleate and grow crystals and form the glass ceramic.
