A socket for an electric component that prevents wiping when a contact piece provided in an upper end of a contact pin is pressed against a terminal of the electric component, and that prevents solder from adhering to the contact point, by a simple configuration, is provided. This electric component socket is provided with a plurality of contact pins (20) in the socket body. The contact pins (20) each have a lower contact part (20b) that is electrically conductive with a contact point on a substrate, an upper contact part (20c) that contacts the terminal of the electric component when pressure is applied, and an upper spring part (20d) that is located between the lower contact part (20b) and the upper contact part (20c), that is elastically deformed when pressure is applied, and that, by its elasticity, presses the upper contact part (20c) against the terminal. The contact pins (20) are each formed in such a shape that the location of the contact point with respect to the terminal does not change when pressure is applied and the upper contact part (20c) is rotated about the contact point (contact projection (20g)) of the upper contact part (20c) and the terminal.
