Abstract
A compression device includes a controller to control an operating speed of a compressor based on a detected level of oil in an oil storage area. During a speed-change operation, the controller controls acceleration of the compressor to maintain the oil level within a predetermined range when the oil level is detected to be outside the predetermined range.

A compression device, comprising:
- a casing;
- a compressor in the casing;
- a driver to drive the compressor;
- a detector to detect a level of oil in an oil storage area;
- and
- a controller to control an operating speed of the compressor based on the detected oil level, wherein, during a speed-change operation, the controller controls acceleration of the compressor to maintain the oil level within a predetermined range when the oil level is detected to be outside the predetermined range.

- performing an speed-change operation for the compressor;
- detecting an oil level during the speed-change operation;

- changing acceleration of the compressor when the detected oil level is lower than a predetermined first level.
