Base station apparatus providing resource block allocation and method therefor

A base station apparatus using a plurality of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs), into which a plurality of subcarriers consecutive in a frequency domain are divided, the plurality of PRBs being grouped into a plurality of resource block groups (RBGs) in units of resource block size, the base station apparatus comprising:

• an allocating unit configured to allocate Distributed Virtual Resource Blocks (DVRBs) with the same DVRB number to a mobile station, the DVRBs with the same DVRB number being mapped to two of the PRBs with a predetermined gap therebetween;
• and
• a transmitting unit configured to transmit data using the PRBs,
• wherein the predetermined gap is an integer multiple of the resource block group size that is a number of the PRBs forming one of the RBGs, into which the plurality of PRBs are grouped.

A method for allocating resource blocks using an apparatus, the method comprising:

• dividing a plurality of subcarriers consecutive in a frequency domain into a plurality of Physical Resource Blocks (PRBs), the plurality of PRBs being grouped into a plurality of resource block groups (RBGs), each of which is a set of a predetermined number of consecutive PRBs;
• and
• allocating Distributed Virtual Resource Blocks (DVRBs) with the same DVRB number to a mobile station, the DVRBs with the same DVRB number being mapped to two of the PRBs with a predetermined gap therebetween,
• wherein the predetermined gap is an integer multiple of the predetermined number that is a number of the consecutive PRBs forming one of the RBGs, into which the plurality of PRBs are grouped.
