Abstract
Method and apparatus for performing hybrid per station and per flow/connection uplink allocations are described. The apparatus may implement a hybrid per flow/connection and per station uplink (UL) resource allocation to improve UL control efficiency and UL resource utilization. The apparatus may be configured to transmit or receive a resource allocation in a signal that contains an indicator that indicates intended flow information.
Claims20
A method for performing hybrid per station and per flow uplink allocations, comprising:
- requesting uplink resource allocation for at least one flow;
- receiving uplink resource allocation;
- determining availability of intended flow information for allocated uplink resources;
- determining applicability of available intended flow information for allocated uplink resources;
- and
- transmitting data using the allocated uplink resource upon application of the intended flow information.
A method for performing hybrid per station and per flow uplink allocations, comprising:
- receiving an uplink resource allocation request for at least one flow;
- assigning one of at least one flow or a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to a group for resource allocation scheduling;
- and
- transmitting a flow indicator to indicate assignment of the one of at least one flow or WTRU to the group.
A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for performing hybrid per station and per flow uplink allocations, comprising:
- a transmitter;
- a receiver;
- a processor in communication with the receiver and transmitter;
- the processor configured to request uplink resource allocation for at least one flow;
- the receiver configured to receive uplink resource allocation;
- the processor configured to determine availability of intended flow information for allocated uplink resources;
- the processor configured to determine applicability of available intended flow information for allocated uplink resources;
- and
- the transmitter configured to transmit data using the allocated uplink resource upon application of the intended flow information.
A base station for performing hybrid per station and per flow uplink allocations, comprising:
- a transmitter;
- a receiver;
- a processor in communication with the receiver and transmitter;
- the receiver configured to receive an uplink resource allocation request for at least one flow;
- the processor configured to assign one of at least one flow or a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to a group for resource allocation scheduling;
- and
- the transmitter configured to transmit a flow indicator to indicate assignment of the one of at least one flow or WTRU to the group.
A system for performing hybrid per station and per flow uplink allocations, comprising:
- a base station including a processor and a transmitter, the processor configured to allocate uplink resources and the transmitter configured to transmit uplink resource allocation;
- and
- a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) including a transmitter, a receiver and a processor,
- wherein the receiver is configured to receive the uplink resource allocation;
- wherein the processor is configured to determine availability of intended flow information for allocated uplink resources;
- wherein the processor is configured to determine applicability of available intended flow information for allocated uplink resources;
- and
- wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit data using the allocated uplink resource upon application of the intended flow information.
