Abstract
Various embodiments are described and illustrated for mitigating a potential system or screen freeze during an electrostatic discharge.
Claims28
A method of operating a test meter, the method comprising:
- displaying a screen image on a display of the test meter;
- saving the screen image to a memory;
- monitoring electrical surges at the display;
- detecting a magnitude of an electrical surge that is not within a predetermined range;
- and
- refreshing the display to have the saved screen image when the magnitude of the electrical surge is not within the predetermined range.

- coupling a test meter to the docking station;
- displaying a screen image on a display of the docking station;
- saving the screen image to a memory;
- monitoring electrical surges at the display;
- detecting a magnitude of an electrical surge that is not within a predetermined range;

- refreshing the display to have the saved screen image when the magnitude of the electrical surge is not within the predetermined range.
