Abstract
System and method for inducing rapid reentry of orbital debris including determining a spatial extent of the orbital debris, and deploying dust to the orbital debris to enhance the drag on the orbital debris.
Claims17
A method for inducing rapid reentry of orbital debris comprising the step of:
- determining a spatial extent of the orbital debris;
- and
- deploying dust to the orbital debris to enhance the drag on the orbital debris.
A system for inducing rapid reentry of orbital debris comprising:
- means for determining a spatial extent of the orbital debris;
- the orbital debris having a first edge of the orbital debris at a higher altitude than a second edge of the orbital debris;
- and
- means for deploying dust to the location to enhance the drag on the orbital debris.
1 more element
A system for inducing rapid reentry of orbital debris comprising:
- a debris location processor at least partially executing on a computer processor stored on a computer readable medium determining a spatial extent of the orbital debris;
- and
- a deployment processor deploying dust to the location to artificially enhance the drag on the orbital debris.
