Abstract
A protective sleeve includes a plurality of cords braided together. Each of the plurality of cords is formed from yarn that are knitted together. The plurality of cords form a substantially complete external surface of the protective sleeve.

A protective sleeve comprising a plurality of cords braided together, each of the plurality of cords being formed from yarn knitted together, wherein the plurality of cords form a substantially complete external surface of said protective sleeve.
A method for manufacturing a protective sleeve comprising the following steps:
- knitting yarn to form a plurality of cords and
- braiding said plurality of cords to form said protective sleeve, wherein the plurality of cords form a substantially complete external surface of said protective sleeve.
